Supplier Quality Manager

Combustion engines (diesel and gas) and for Common rail system - Off road

Experience in design support activities:

  • Management of development projects for quality planning of parts purchases.

  • Support in determining quality aspects prior to production start-up for the following departments: Project Management, Testing, Construction and Purchasing.

  • Conducting audits (product and process) at suppliers to capture component quality.

  • Support of assembly activities from a quality perspective during the start-up phases of new product generations.

  • Implementation of measures in agreement with the production departments and suppliers.

  • Quality assurance during the development phase as well as during serial production.

  • Participation in project discussions and early detection of possible problems - Support to serial production and interface with suppliers (internal quality).

  • Head of the Test and Validation department (12 to 15 people)

  • Development of innovative solutions on multi-wire sawing and precision wafering for the photovoltaic industry with corresponding measurements and tests.

  • Construction and investment of a new metrology laboratory for wafer inspection ($2M).

  • Organization of tests with the R&D department.

  • Contacts with customers for acceptance, presentations, laboratory visits.

High precision high speed positioning systems for the electronics and semiconductor markets.

 

  • Management of a project team composed of multidisciplinary specialists in an industrial environment of very high technology with a matrix organization.

  • Project management according to the DfX - design for conception - methodology (phase review, usual quality tools from the FMEA of the design to the acceptance test protocol by the customer).

  • Coordination of development and industrialization activities, quality plans.

  • Selection of suppliers in partnership with the project teams.

  • Evaluation of specifications, project risks, reporting to general management.

Technical parts for automotive components clutching and detection systems.

 

In the Valeo Switches and Detection Systems division:

 

  • Development up to series of switches for different marketed vehicles with quality/cost/time requirements, including equipment manufacturing process, negotiation.

  • Commercialization of the project vehicle: TOYOTA/PSA B0: Use of Toyota methodology to achieve quality objectives: full testing, process diagrams, Toyota process audits.

  • Implementation of a quality control on the process and the suppliers in order to guarantee the 0 defect.

  • Follow-up of a thesis on electrical contacts with the university. Follow-up of the research contract

  • Development in partnership with another parts supplier of a sunroof control system with sensitive surface activation. Negotiation of the partnership contract (Webasto).

  • Filing of the corresponding patents.

  • Presentation to car manufacturers during a technology day.

In the Valeo Clutching systems division – New products research center :

 

  • Development of a new generation of plastic hydraulic controls to replace the old generation in cast aluminum for the Mondovi plant (Italy) - Use of ultrasonic technology to weld the parts and use of experimental designs for validation.

  • Organization and animation of meetings (Projects, creativity, review, technical and economical evaluation, cost optimization).

  • Organization of tests and trials necessary for validation and reliability.

  • Simultaneous engineering design with methods and suppliers.

  • Qualification of the parts until the series on the new RENAULT Mégane.

Manufacture of composite refrigeration panels and metal frames

  • Quality management of a team of 15 people in order to set up and develop analysis methods to prevent quality defects: Resins, polyurethane foams, laminates, gel-coats, varnishes.

  • Responsible for the development of new plastic materials, composites, and adapted resin products to improve quality and reduce costs.

  • Responsible for the control laboratory, testing methodologies, drafting of specifications and control procedures for contractual specifications of purchased products.

  • Development of new formulations and design of experiments for the development of formulations at the research center.

  • Development of controls (ultrasonic technology) including computer imaging.

  • Development of ultrasonic control of special products for graphite-gas nuclear reactors (COGEMA and BNFL customers).

  • Implementation and qualification of new materials and new plastic technologies (injectable and composite materials applied to radomes and electromagnetic antennas).

  • Support in the development of specific materials with the technical constraints of the aerospace industry (specifications, program management).

  • Processing of contracts, estimates and investments applied to the implementation of materials: resin molding, injection of special materials.

  • Construction of a new laboratory with definition of investments and implementation, creation of a "clean room".
